Release PR for the AISIX 1.7.0 chart pair: aisix-cp and aisix both move to version / appVersion 1.7.0, so both deploy the 1.7.0 images (docker.io/api7/aisix-cp-{api,dpm}:1.7.0, docker.io/api7/aisix:1.7.0). It stays a draft until those images are published.

charts/aisix-cp is synced from AISIX-Cloud helm/aisix-cp at v1.7.0. Two functional changes this release. cp-api and dp-manager pods get a checksum/secret annotation (the new aisix-cp.secretChecksum helper hashes the data of secret.yaml and external-db-secret.yaml, minus the bootstrap admin password), so changing a value in a Secret the chart renders now rolls the pods. And cp-api's four per-site private-address switches (api.playgroundAllowPrivateIPs, api.notifyAllowPrivateURLs, api.mcpSpecAllowPrivateURLs, api.guardrailTestConnectionAllowInsecure) are replaced by one api.outbound.ssrfProtection block with enabled (unset follows deploymentMode: off on-premises, on for saas) and allowedHosts. A release that still carries one of the old values keeps rendering it, so cp-api logs that it is ignored instead of the setting vanishing silently. The rest is values descriptions: api.dpImage notes that the Helm install snippet takes only the repository, ui.defaultLocale is now the fallback behind the console's language picker and the organization's language setting, and the SaaS/on-premises comments use the AISIX Cloud / AISIX Enterprise names. The public adaptations are preserved: docker.io registries with empty tags defaulting to .Chart.AppVersion, the real gateway image in NOTES.txt, the 1.5.0 gateway image default in _legacy-env.tpl, and the public README.

charts/aisix declares the gateway startup keys 1.7.0 adds, drops the one it retires, and gains Deployment annotations:

Merging publishes aisix-cp-1.7.0 and aisix-1.7.0.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added outbound SSRF protection settings, including configurable allowed hosts and deployment-mode defaults.
    • Added chart options for media-fetching limits, a Bedrock Mantle token-counting endpoint, and deployment annotations.
    • Changes to chart-managed secrets now trigger application pod rollouts.
  • Updates
    • Updated AISIX Helm charts to version 1.7.0.
    • Updated configuration guidance for locale selection, administrator setup, and AISIX Enterprise.
    • Removed the usage-event request-header setting and replaced older outbound request controls with the SSRF protection setting.

Takes helm/aisix-cp at v1.7.0-rc.1: a checksum/secret pod annotation on cp-api and dp-manager (with its aisix-cp.secretChecksum helper) so a change to a value in a chart-rendered Secret rolls the pods, and updated values descriptions (api.dpImage, ui.defaultLocale now a fallback behind the language picker, AISIX Enterprise / AISIX Cloud naming). Public adaptations are kept: docker.io registries, empty image tags defaulting to the chart appVersion, the real gateway image in NOTES.txt, the 1.5.0 DP image default in _legacy-env.tpl, and the public README.

📝 Walkthrough

Both Helm charts move to version 1.7.0. The CP chart adds outbound SSRF settings and Secret-content rollout checksums. The AISIX chart adds outbound SSRF, media-fetch, Bedrock Mantle, and Deployment annotation settings. Values and README documentation are updated.

Changes: AISIX Helm chart updates

Layer / File(s) Summary
CP chart outbound configuration
charts/aisix-cp/values.yaml, charts/aisix-cp/templates/api-configmap.yaml, charts/aisix-cp/Chart.yaml, charts/aisix-cp/README.md
The CP chart adds api.outbound.ssrfProtection settings to the API ConfigMap. enabled is rendered when set, including false; allowedHosts is rendered when nonempty. The existing per-site switches remain available. The chart version and documented references move to 1.7.0, and the values documentation is updated.
CP chart Secret rollout checksums
charts/aisix-cp/templates/_helpers.tpl, charts/aisix-cp/templates/api-deployment.yaml, charts/aisix-cp/templates/dpm-deployment.yaml
A new helper hashes data from the chart-rendered Secrets after removing bootstrap-admin-password from the chart Secret data. The API and DPM pod templates use the hash in a checksum/secret annotation.
AISIX chart upstream configuration
charts/aisix/values.yaml, charts/aisix/ci/config-values.yaml, charts/aisix/README.md
The chart adds outbound SSRF protection, media-fetch settings, and a nullable Bedrock Mantle endpoint override. It removes observability.usage_event.request_headers from the values and CI configuration. The README documents the settings.
AISIX Deployment annotations and release metadata
charts/aisix/values.yaml, charts/aisix/templates/deployment.yaml, charts/aisix/Chart.yaml, charts/aisix/README.md
The chart adds an empty annotations map and conditionally renders it under Deployment metadata. The chart and app versions, and their README references, move to 1.7.0.

Full details: Security Check

Explanation

No security failure was introduced by the pull request. - Category 1 — No issues found. The retired request-header recording setting is removed. The new checksum helper hashes Secret data and emits only a SHA-256 digest (charts/aisix-cp/templates/_helpers.tpl:350-355). - Category 2 — No issues found. No database model, migration, or plaintext secret persistence changed. Existing secrets remain Kubernetes Secret references. - Category 3 — No issues found. No HTTP handlers or permission checks changed. - Category 4 — No issues found. No resource lookup, ownership, or cross-resource operation changed. - Category 5 — No issues found. The PR declares endpoint and SSRF configuration only. It does not change TLS implementation or certificate verification. The gateway TLS verification default remains true (charts/aisix/values.yaml:358-368). - Category 6 — No issues found. No shared-resource or cascade operation changed. - Category 7 — No issues found. No new secret-reference path is added. The new media-fetch, Mantle endpoint, and SSRF settings are non-secret configuration. Deployment annotations use toYaml and do not execute values (charts/aisix/templates/deployment.yaml:5-8). The changed files contain Helm metadata, values, ConfigMap rendering, checksum annotations, and Deployment metadata only. They contain no changed logging, response serialization, database writes, authorization handlers, ownership checks, or secret resolver implementation.

Full details: E2e Test Quality Review

Explanation

Blocking: the PR adds no E2E tests or test fixtures. The changed templates add SSRF configuration and legacy-value handling (charts/aisix-cp/templates/api-configmap.yaml:96-117), Secret checksum rollout logic (_helpers.tpl:340-355), gateway Deployment annotations, media fetching, Bedrock, and gateway SSRF settings. Existing CI only lints aisix-cp and does not install it (.github/workflows/ci.yaml:55-62,97-111). Its AISIX tests cover basic startup, listeners, and Admin API, but do not exercise these new flows or assert the new rendered values. Critical boundary, invalid-input, compatibility, and failure scenarios are therefore untested.

Resolution

Add isolated E2E coverage to CI. Install aisix-cp with a real database and verify cp-api startup, SSRF defaults and overrides, allowed-host behavior, legacy-value compatibility, and Secret checksum changes for chart-managed versus external Secrets. Install aisix and exercise media fetch success, SSRF blocking and allowed-host exceptions, the max-byte boundary, Bedrock endpoint configuration, and Deployment metadata annotations. Use structured assertions with explicit cleanup and checked command failures.

Pairs with api7/aisix#1318: the Bedrock Mantle endpoint count_tokens
falls back to for Claude models bedrock-runtime cannot count. Null derives
https://bedrock-mantle.{region}.api.aws from the provider key's region.
…ed_hosts

The gateway moved the media download's allow-list to a product-wide
outbound.ssrf_protection block (enabled, allowed_hosts) in api7/aisix#1327.
cp-api's per-site private-address switches (api.playgroundAllowPrivateIPs, notifyAllowPrivateURLs, mcpSpecAllowPrivateURLs, guardrailTestConnectionAllowInsecure) are replaced by one api.outbound.ssrfProtection block (enabled, allowedHosts). A release that still carries one of the old values renders it so cp-api warns that it is ignored.
