Description
Outcome
Check watching, red-PR diagnosis and description restoration run as tested Go instead of shell, under the shell freeze of #588. Watching and diagnosis land under agentrepo checks, next to the evaluator from #242. Description restoration lands under agentrepo pr, one shared command for fix-pr and merge-pr. Remaining skill scripts are thin exec shims.
Diagnosis already shipped: the Go command (#832), its report parity tests (#959) and routing of the consumer entry point to it (#960).
Size is L across three children, and no pull request carries the whole epic.
Done when
- Watching:
agentrepo checks watchreplaces the watcher's behavior and the consumer-facing watcher routes to it, with the contract unchanged. Evidence: feat(checks): move pull request watching into Go #793 closed. - Diagnosis:
agentrepo checks diagnoseproduces the failure report and the consumer entry point routes to it. Evidence: feat(checks): move pull request failure diagnosis into Go #794 closed, with feat(checks): diagnose failures in Go #832, test(checks): verify diagnosis report parity #959 and feat(checks): route diagnosis through the Go command #960 merged. - Description restoration: fix-pr and merge-pr both produce the result of
agentrepo pr populate-descriptionfor the same PR and draft. Evidence: feat(pr): move shared description restoration into Go #795 closed.
Children
- feat(checks): move pull request watching into Go #793 (watching, open, size L): its own children feat(checks): add the Go pull request watch command #976, feat(checks): route the watch wrapper to the Go command #977 and test(checks): prove watch command parity against the pinned shell #978.
- feat(checks): move pull request failure diagnosis into Go #794 (diagnosis, closed).
- feat(pr): move shared description restoration into Go #795 (description restoration, open, size S).
Depends on #321 for shared GitHub access and #333 for binary distribution.
Out of scope
- Retiring frozen shell fallbacks, which wait on Ship the Go binaries as release assets installed through mise's github backend #333 and feat(distribution): migrate consumer tool pins to release assets #544.
- Changing the saved-rollup evaluator from feat(checks): assess saved pull request check summaries #242.
- Porting other skill scripts, tracked under Replace complex shell with tested Go, starting with gates and merging #588.

Refinement: NOT READY — restoration overlaps the merge epic, and the live type is still Feature

Gaps
Split
Keep watching / delivered diagnosis / shared restoration. No further implementation split is needed for #325 itself. Resolve the duplicate restoration allocation in #873/#874 before coding. Use existing #961/#962 and #978 parity work for watching, with an explicit disposition of superseded #824; do not start another implementation. Diagnosis is complete.
Definition of done
Ticks mean child ACs/Verify plans cover the requirement, not that unfinished delivery checks passed. The requested Epic checklist contains D4, epic-1 and epic-2; other base items apply to child PRs.
