Description
To make closing easier: these open issues look fixed, answered or stale. I checked each one against current master (4e0f03d) and its thread; one line each with the reason.
Fixed on master
| # | Issue | Fixed by |
|---|---|---|
| #3 | Produce tilejson | Directory output writes metadata.json (bounds, zooms, vector_layers, plus settings.filemetadata); .mbtiles writes the json row |
| #71 | make doesn't pick up source changes | #932: Makefile dependency tracking (-MD -MP, -include $(DEPS)) |
| #102 | OpenMapTiles .mbtiles compatibility | bounds, center, format, zooms and json/vector_layers are written automatically |
| #129 | Docker build fails (protoc) | #625 removed protobuf; Dockerfile is now Debian + CMake, built in CI |
| #284 | Support type=boundary | #508: boundary relations are assembled as multipolygons (docs/RELATIONS.md) |
| #344 | Compile with -DFAT_TILE_INDEX | #700 removed the flag; coordinates are always 32-bit |
| #377 | Ocean layer everywhere / slow | Cause was the reporter's attribute_function (confirmed by the reporter); combine_polygons_below handles the performance part |
| #396 | include_ids: POI id undefined | #595: nodes, ways and relations get their OSM ID |
| #399 | Empty output on Windows (v2.2) | #441 fixed the MSVC enum bug identified in the thread; #894 fixed PBF block offsets on Windows |
| #690 | macOS build fails (allocator.destroy) |
#759 (Boost 1.86), later Boost fixes; another user confirmed a clean macOS build |
| #693 | Lua error "table is not a function" | #770: a missing node_function is tolerated now (the posted script also uses the pre-3.0 API) |
| #694 | Lua missing on Ubuntu 23.04 | #885: INSTALL.md lists lua5.3 liblua5.3-dev |
| #740 | Keep OSM feature type | #834: OsmType() |
| #748 | Lua function listing all tags | #755: AllTags() / AllKeys() |
| #751 | BUILD_DEBUG docker arg | #753 |
| #752 | --quiet option |
#754 |
| #773 | Duplicate railway linestrings | #775 removed the extra Layer() call |
| #786 | v3.0.0 doesn't build with Boost 1.86 | Fix released in v3.1.0 and v3.2.0 |
| #793 | Leaving out compress causes an assertion |
#919 schema validation: now "missing required field compress" (v3.2.0+) |
| #842 | Docker image missing static folder | #844 |
| #853 | Segfault in AttributeInteger |
#859: non-integer layer/level values are floored in the profile |
| #879 | AttributeInteger is nil |
Lua profile newer than the binary (needs #827, in v3.1.0+) |
| #251 | Segfault in serialiseToJSONValue (2021, macOS) |
Most likely fixed: every writer of the attribute map is now mutex-guarded (#761, #913). There was never a reproduction, so this is not confirmed |
Answered, user error or intended behaviour
| # | Issue | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| #75 | More road detail at low zoom | Tuning question; simplify_below in the posted config never applies |
| #194 | Docker: terminate / zlib error | Wrong -v / Windows host paths in the command; README has correct Docker usage |
| #113 | docker run can't use config.json | Never diagnosed, but most likely the same Docker volume/path problem; README shows the correct usage |
| #250 | sac_scale in Lua | Reporter's own post says it works |
| #265 | natural=cliff rendered as fill | Reporter's custom profile; the shipped profile doesn't map cliffs (no replies in the thread) |
| #321 | Highway shields drawn multiple times | Debug collision boxes in the renderer, as explained by the maintainer; combine_lines_below merges the ways |
| #444 | Link error luaL_traceback |
Built against Lua 5.0; the reporter got it working with 5.4 |
| #458 | Can't show building:part from a relation | Profile question: building:part is a way tag, the posted Lua calls relation functions in way processing |
| #483 | How to use tilemaker-windows.zip | Answered in the thread (GeoJSON input is supported now too) |
| #659 | Small GeoJSON polygons not showing | Reporter confirmed it was tile-server caching |
| #683 | attempt to call global 'Find' | Old (2.2) binary with the v3 Lua profile |
| #688 | Buildings/piers missing at z13 | Intended: SetMinZoomByArea() in the OMT profile; reporter is fine with it |
| #691 | Roads look simplified at z8 | Snapping to the 4096 tile grid, as explained by the maintainer |
| #703 | Planet on a 32 GB VM gives blank output | systemd-oomd killed the process; works after disabling it (reporter confirmed). A note in docs/RUNNING.md could still help |
| #731 | Empty-string attributes differ between platforms | Intended change in #676 (confirmed by the maintainer). The FindOrNull idea from that thread doesn't exist; it would need its own enhancement issue if wanted |
| #736 | make hangs on Ubuntu | Build environment; solved by the reporter with Lua 5.3 |
| #779 | Output not working (Find is nil) |
Older installed binary with the new Lua; reporter says it works now |
| #800 | Docker can't open the pbf | Windows path passed into the container; correct /data/... usage given in the thread |
| #802 | All labels missing with the default config | The profile writes name:latin/name_int, not name; explained by the maintainer |
| #816 | parsing PBF: unexpected EOF | Error from imposm, not tilemaker (reporter agreed) |
| #884 | Docker OOM warning not understood | Fixed informational text printed by docker-entrypoint.sh on every run, not an error |
Stale, no reproduction
| # | Issue | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| #66 | Only empty tiles from shapefiles (2017) | No reproduction; shapefile reading has been rewritten since |
| #76 | Can't display tiles (2017) | No details given |
| #77 | Empty z12 tiles (2017) | Maintainer couldn't reproduce with 4 datasets; no repro steps followed |
| #457 | "i is out of bounds" in correct.hpp | The loop index is in bounds (for (i = size-1; i--; )); example file was requested in 2023, no reply |
Release request
| # | Issue | Note |
|---|---|---|
| #744 | Next release? | v3.1.0 and v3.2.0 are out. Note for Windows users: neither has prebuilt binaries attached; CI artifacts or WSL are the options |
Deliberately not included: #580 (the 2024-04 river clipping report there is still open) and #852 (needs a Lua function for a way's node count, so it's a feature request).
