Shared object storage configuration is moving to frontend in https://github.com/sourcegraph/sourcegraph/pull/17156. Administrators need to know where to set the environment variables and which authentication requirements still apply to consuming services.
Update the object storage guide to configure
SOURCEGRAPH_UPLOAD_*identically on every frontend, explain configuration precedence and consumer restarts, and distinguish distributed static credentials from per-service IAM roles and Application Default Credentials. Document frontend-only GCS credential-file mounts and the permissions required for bucket management. Leave separate code graph and search job bucket configuration unchanged.Publication dependency: Coordinate merge/publication with the release or weekly update containing sourcegraph/sourcegraph#17156; do not publish these instructions before that behavior ships. During rollout, put matching shared-bucket configuration on every frontend first and retain matching environment settings and credential mounts on older consumers until all services are upgraded. Capture that transition in the corresponding upgrade notes once the release is assigned.
