Long histories are difficult to retrace after browsing older commits. Add Home, Back, and Forward controls after the existing history toolbar buttons.

Home resolves HEAD in the current worktree and reveals its commit, including for linked worktrees and detached HEAD. Back and Forward restore visited commits and scroll them into view. Visits are recorded after a one-second pause, so rapid browsing does not fill the stack. Navigation history stays in memory and pauses while the history view is hidden.

Shortcuts: Alt+Home, Alt+Left, and Alt+Right; macOS also supports Command+[ and Command+]. Unavailable commits are skipped, and cancelled lookups preserve the navigation position.

Validation:

  • Application and headless test project build successfully.
  • All 29 headless navigation checks pass, covering visibility, delayed visits, linked worktrees, detached HEAD, shortcuts, missing commits, cancellation, and view lifecycle.
  • Formatting verification and git diff whitespace checks pass.
