Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Compatibility
    • Python 3.10 is no longer supported. Python 3.11 or newer is required, up to but not including Python 3.16. Update your Python environment before installing or upgrading. Applications and workflows that rely on Python 3.10 will need to move to a supported version to continue using the package.

Walkthrough

The package now declares Python support above 3.10, and the legacy unittest job runs on Python 3.11. Across executor, scheduler, and standalone modules, annotations use built-in union syntax. Runtime behavior is unchanged.

Make the graph extras installable on Python 3.11.

The new minimum version is Python 3.11, but graph, graphnotebook, and all pin networkx==3.7. NetworkX 3.7 requires Python 3.12 or newer. Installation of those extras therefore fails on Python 3.11. Select a compatible NetworkX version for Python 3.11, or change the declared support range. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Review comment at @pyproject.toml at line 19:
Keep the Python 3.11 support declared by requires-python and update the NetworkX
pin used by the graph, graphnotebook, and all extras to a version compatible
with Python 3.11.

@copilot fix the python 3.11 tests, the issue seems to be related to the recent changes.

Updated .ci_support/environment-old.yml to use cloudpickle 2.2.1, which supports Python 3.11. The focused Python 3.11 interactive tests now pass. Commit: f464bd5.
