Resolves #6083

Description:

Adds an Export button and popover menu to the client-side replay viewer ( and ), allowing players to export replays across multiple formats:

  1. Video Timelapse (.webm): Fast, condensed match summary (120 frames sampled evenly across the game at 30 fps) recorded directly from the WebGL canvas.
  2. Full Match Video (.mp4): Real-time simulation speed (10 fps) full match recording via MediaRecorder with automatic fallback to WebM on platforms lacking MP4 encoding support.
  3. Animated Timelapse (.gif): Lightweight, self-contained territory expansion timelapse generated via a pure-TypeScript LZW GIF89a encoder with palette downsampling.
  4. Current Frame Screenshot (.png): Full-resolution snapshot of the current frame, synchronously rendered to avoid blank drawing buffers.
  5. Replay Archive (.json): Portable archive containing complete ReplayData (base data + base64-encoded compressed chunks) for offline backup and import.
  6. Match Stats (.csv): RFC-4180 CSV table with per-player columns for territory tiles, troops, gold, alive status, and individual structure/ship counts over time.

Please complete the following:

  • I have added screenshots for all UI updates
  • I process any text displayed to the user through translateText() and I've added it to the en.json file
  • I have added relevant tests to the test directory

Please put your Discord username so you can be contacted if a bug or regression is found:

Walkthrough

The replay viewer adds an export menu for PNG, MP4, WebM, GIF, JSON, and CSV. It generates and downloads export files, reports failures, and blocks exports for incomplete replays. Playback and input actions are limited during export. The renderer also adds a method to flush territory drip buckets.

Changes

Replay export flow

Layer / File(s) Summary
Export menu and controls
src/client/replay/ReplayControls.ts, resources/lang/en.json, tests/client/replay/ReplayExport.test.ts
The controls list export formats, emit the selected format, and show export status. English labels and tests cover the menu, cancellation, and disabled interactions.
Export data generation
src/client/replay/ReplayExport.ts, tests/client/replay/ReplayExport.test.ts
Export utilities add PNG capture, MP4/WebM recording, GIF encoding, JSON archive serialization and import, and match-statistics CSV generation. Tests cover format output and cancellation.
Viewer export orchestration
src/client/replay/ReplayViewer.ts, tests/client/replay/ReplayViewerErrors.test.ts
The viewer runs format-specific exports, downloads successful results, reports failures, and restores playback state after video export. It marks early-stopped replays as partial and rejects exports while replay data is incomplete. Tests cover these restrictions and Escape cancellation.

Renderer territory flush

Layer / File(s) Summary
Flush territory drip buckets
src/client/render/gl/MapRenderer.ts, src/client/render/gl/Renderer.ts, tests/client/MapRendererContextLoss.test.ts
MapRenderer.flushTileDrip() forwards to GPURenderer.flushTileDrip(), which drains territory drip buckets. A test checks the forwarding call.

Full details: Title check

Explanation

The title names the main change: adding multi-format replay export to the replay viewer. The changeset adds an Export button and menu, plus PNG, video, GIF, JSON, and CSV exports, which matches the title. The title uses the conventional feat(replay) prefix and includes the issue number.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description states that it adds an Export button and popover menu to the replay viewer and controls. It lists six export formats (WebM timelapse, MP4 full-match video, GIF, PNG screenshot, JSON archive, CSV stats). These match the changed files, so the description is on-topic and specific.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The changed replay controls, viewer, export helpers, translations, and tests implement the export feature in [#6083]. flushTileDrip() in MapRenderer and GPURenderer supports deterministic frame rendering during export, and its test covers that support. Incomplete-replay handling also supports safe export behavior. No unrelated change is established. The excluded SVG file was not reviewed.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

Issue [#6083] is active and directly linked. The pull request adds the Export menu, WebM and MP4/WebM-fallback video, GIF, PNG, JSON archive, CSV statistics, translations, and tests. GIF satisfies the animated GIF/WebP alternative. The JSON archive includes base64-encoded compressed chunks. The implementation still uses fixed video ranges and timing: full replay for MP4 and up to 120 sampled frames at 30 fps for WebM. It provides no custom start/end tick range, configurable duration or playback speed, or HUD/name visibility options for video and PNG export.

Resolution

For [#6083], add tested controls for video start and end ticks, playback speed or duration, and HUD/name visibility for video and PNG screenshots. If these requirements are intentionally excluded, update the issue requirements.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 41.67% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 24 functions across 8 files. (1 skipped: 1 unsupported.)

Resolution

Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.

🤖 Claude Code Review

Verdict: The PNG, GIF, JSON and CSV exports look correct, but the video export does not produce what it promises. Findings: 0 high, 2 medium, 0 low.

Files: src/client/replay/ReplayExport.ts / src/client/replay/ReplayViewer.ts

1. [Medium] The "Full Match Video" is not real-time and drops most frames; the WebM timelapse drops frames too.
ReplayExport.ts:244 (captureStream(fps)) and the loop at ReplayExport.ts:263-272, called from ReplayViewer.ts:835-846 (fps: isFull ? TICKS_PER_SECOND : 30, frameDelayMs: isFull ? 8 : 16).

  • Timing: MediaRecorder stamps each frame with the time it was captured. So the length of the video is however long the export loop took, not totalFrames / fps. Each replay frame takes about 8 ms of delay plus seek and draw time. That makes every 100 ms game tick roughly 10–15 ms of video, so the "full match" plays several times faster than real time.
  • Dropped frames: captureStream(10) captures at most 10 frames per real second, but the loop draws a new replay frame every ~10–15 ms, so most replay frames are never recorded. track.requestFrame() only controls capture on a stream created with captureStream(0), so it does nothing here.
  • WebM: the timelapse (30 fps cap, 16 ms delay plus seek time) loses a good share of its 120 sampled frames the same way.
  • Tests: they mock MediaRecorder and only check which frames were sought, not which were recorded, so they do not catch this.
  • Fix: call captureStream(0) and track.requestFrame() once after each seekAndDraw, and wait about 1000 / fps ms per frame so the timestamps come out evenly spaced. For exact output, encode with WebCodecs VideoEncoder and explicit timestamps. Separately, the live rAF loop keeps drawing during the export, and territory deltas are applied gradually over render frames. Make sure each captured frame is fully applied, for example by seeking for every exported frame or flushing pending deltas before capture.

2. [Medium] The user can play or seek during a video export, which corrupts the recording.
ReplayViewer.ts:830-853. The export calls p.pause() once, but none of the existing inputs check this.exporting:

  • Space → togglePlay() (ReplayViewer.ts:727)
  • the arrow-key seeks (:730, :733)
  • the timeline @replay-seek handler
  • the settings menu pause/resume (:633)

The rAF loop keeps calling playback.tick(now), so resuming playback moves the target forward while seekAndDraw is running. Any seek between frames puts stray, out-of-order frames into the video. At the end, the finally only calls p.play() if playback wasPlaying, so playback resumed during the export is left in whatever state it ended up in.

  • Fix: while this.exporting is true, ignore play, seek and keyboard input in togglePlay, onKey, the replay-seek handler and the pause-intent handler, or have playback.tick do nothing during an export.

Also checked: CLAUDE.md compliance (i18n keys, translation files, homepage-chunk/lazy-load rule) and the GIF LZW encoder, terrain and owner decoding, JSON archive round-trip, CSV owner mapping and PNG capture path. No issues found there.

🤖 Claude Code Review

Verdict: No new issues found in this re-review. Findings: 0 high, 0 medium, 0 low (new).

Checked for bugs and CLAUDE.md compliance. The two medium findings from the earlier Claude review are not repeated here: video export timing and dropped frames, and play/seek being allowed during a video export.

Re-checked across the whole PR:

  • i18n: every new string the user sees goes through translateText(), and all the keys are in en.json.
  • Homepage chunk: ReplayViewer is still loaded lazily from Main.ts, so the new imports do not end up in the homepage chunk.
  • GIF89a LZW encoder: the code width grows and the clear code resets at the right points, and the data is split into sub-blocks correctly.
  • JSON archive: the toStored/fromStored round-trip holds. The base64 conversion works in 32 KB pieces, so large replays will not overflow the stack.
  • CSV: cells are quoted and escaped correctly.
  • PNG capture: the canvas is redrawn in the same task as toBlob, so the screenshot is not blank.
  • replay-export event: it is dispatched and handled under the same name, and the exporting flag is reset in finally.

Minor and harmless: at src/client/replay/ReplayExport.ts:741, frameIdx === totalFrames && frameIdx < 0 is always false, so that check is dead code.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

Pace video capture at the requested frame rate.

ReplayExport.ts captures a real-time canvas stream, but this branch advances frames every 8 ms for MP4 and 16 ms for WebM while requesting 10 FPS and 30 FPS. The stream can skip logical frames or compress the output duration. The 120-frame timelapse can finish in about 1.9 seconds instead of 4 seconds. Use 1000 / fps for the delay, or change ReplayExport.ts to use manual captureStream(0) with explicit timing. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Merge the two fake recorders into one factory. Add a test for the MP4 to WebM fallback.

FakeMediaRecorder and FakeMp4Recorder are almost the same code. Only the MIME type, the isTypeSupported rule and the chunk bytes differ. A factory function that takes these values is simpler than two copied classes. It also replaces any with a typed event shape.

The PR objectives say MP4 export falls back to WebM when MP4 is not supported. No test covers this case. A test with preferredFormat: "mp4" and a recorder that supports only WebM would check that res.ext is "webm". No test covers the error paths either: no captureStream, or totalFrames: 0.

♻️ Suggested helper (add near the top of the file)
type RecorderEvent = { data?: Blob };
type RecorderListener = (e: RecorderEvent) => void;

function installFakeMediaRecorder(opts: {
  mimeType: string;
  supports: (mime: string) => boolean;
}) {
  class FakeRecorder {
    static isTypeSupported = opts.supports;
    state = "inactive";
    mimeType = opts.mimeType;
    private listeners = new Map<string, RecorderListener[]>();
    addEventListener(type: string, cb: RecorderListener) {
      this.listeners.set(type, [...(this.listeners.get(type) ?? []), cb]);
    }
    start() {
      this.state = "recording";
    }
    stop() {
      this.state = "inactive";
      const data = new Blob(["chunk"], { type: opts.mimeType });
      for (const cb of this.listeners.get("dataavailable") ?? []) cb({ data });
      for (const cb of this.listeners.get("stop") ?? []) cb({});
    }
  }
  globalThis.MediaRecorder = FakeRecorder as unknown as typeof MediaRecorder;
}

Then each test calls installFakeMediaRecorder({ mimeType: "video/webm", supports: (m) => m === "video/webm" }). The fallback test uses the same call with exportVideo({ ..., preferredFormat: "mp4" }) and expects ext to be "webm".

The GIF tests do not check the image data.

encodeGif89a has a custom LZW encoder. Both tests check only the header, the trailer, and (in the first test) the width and height. If the LZW output is wrong, the file is still accepted by these tests, but real viewers will show a broken or blank GIF. The first test title also says "loop extension", but nothing asserts the NETSCAPE2.0 block.

Add these checks:

  • Search the bytes for NETSCAPE2.0.
  • Add a small LZW decoder in the test, or in a util file. Decode each frame and compare it with the input pixels f1 and f2.
  • In the exportReplayGif test, check that the number of image descriptors (0x2c) matches the sampled frame count.

🤖 Claude Code Review

Verdict: The earlier fixes help, but the video export timing is still wrong because of a default value. Findings: 0 high, 1 medium, 0 low.

src/client/replay/ReplayExport.ts

1. [Medium] The fps-based frame spacing never takes effect, so videos still play several times too fast.
ReplayExport.ts:222 sets frameDelayMs = 12 as a default when it destructures opts. That makes frameDelayMs always a number, so at ReplayExport.ts:272 the ?? Math.max(1, Math.round(1000 / fps)) fallback is dead code and targetIntervalMs is always 12 ms. ReplayViewer.ts:837-847 does not pass frameDelayMs. With captureStream(0) and requestFrame(), each frame's timestamp is the real time it was captured, so:

  • "Full Match Video" (fps: 10): frames land about 12 ms apart instead of 100 ms. The video plays about 8× faster than real time, which contradicts the "real-time simulation speed" in the PR description.
  • WebM timelapse (fps: 30): frames land about 12 ms apart instead of about 33 ms. The 120 frames last roughly 1.4 s instead of 4 s.
  • Fix: drop the default (frameDelayMs, with no = 12) so the interval comes from fps, or pass frameDelayMs: 1000 / fps from the viewer. A test that checks the wait between requestFrame() calls would catch this happening again.

Also checked: earlier finding #2 (playing or seeking during an export) is fixed. Play, seek, speed, keyboard and pause-intent input are all blocked while exporting is true, and the rAF loop stops ticking. Also re-checked: i18n keys, the homepage-chunk rule (ReplayControls and ReplayExport are only reached through the lazily loaded viewer), GIF terrain decoding on seek() (it returns the full terrain map), the CSV, JSON and PNG paths, and the requestFrame fallback. No other issues found.

🤖 Claude Code Review

Verdict: No new issues found in this full re-review. Findings: 0 high, 0 medium, 0 low (new).

Checked for bugs and CLAUDE.md compliance.

Still open from the earlier review (counted there, not here): src/client/replay/ReplayExport.ts:222 still defaults frameDelayMs = 12. Because of that, the ?? Math.max(1, Math.round(1000 / fps)) fallback at ReplayExport.ts:272 never runs, and the full-match MP4 and WebM timelapse videos still play several times faster than their target fps.

Re-checked across the whole PR:

  • Input during export: play, seek, speed, keyboard and pause-intent input are all ignored while exporting is true. The rAF loop stops ticking, and the saved frame and play state come back in finally.
  • ReplayPlayback interaction: each video frame is one step past the last, so seek steps through frames instead of jumping. tick caps the time gap after an export at 1 s, so playback does not jump ahead when it resumes.
  • GIF: palette slots and tile owners use the same 4 + (smallID - 1) % 252 mapping. The LZW code width and clear-code reset are correct.
  • JSON, CSV and PNG: the archive round-trips through toStored/fromStored. CSV cells are escaped and protected against formula injection. The PNG is drawn in the same task as toBlob.
  • i18n: every new string goes through translateText(), and all nine keys are in en.json (no other language files changed).
  • Homepage chunk: ReplayExport is only reached through the lazily loaded replay viewer.

🤖 Claude Code Review

Verdict: No new issues found in this full re-review. Findings: 0 high, 0 medium, 0 low (new).

Checked for bugs and CLAUDE.md compliance.

Earlier finding now fixed: exportVideo no longer defaults frameDelayMs = 12 (src/client/replay/ReplayExport.ts:222). The frame spacing now comes from Math.max(1, Math.round(1000 / fps)) (ReplayExport.ts:272), so the full-match video (10 fps) and the WebM timelapse (30 fps) get the frame timing they ask for.

Re-checked across the whole PR:

  • Input during export: play, seek, speed, keyboard and pause-intent input are ignored while exporting is true. The rAF loop stops ticking, and the saved frame and play state are restored in finally.
  • GIF encoder: the LZW code width grows and the clear code resets at the right points, and the sub-blocks are split correctly. Palette slots and tile owners use the same 4 + (smallID - 1) % 252 mapping.
  • JSON, CSV and PNG: the archive round-trips through toStored/fromStored. CSV cells are escaped and protected against formula injection. The PNG is drawn in the same task as toBlob.
  • i18n: every new string goes through translateText(), and all nine keys are in en.json. No other language files changed.
  • Homepage chunk: ReplayExport is only reached through ReplayControls and ReplayViewer, which load lazily. No homepage module imports them.

Checked for bugs and CLAUDE.md compliance. The findings from earlier Claude reviews are not repeated here. All of them were resolved in earlier pushes, and the current head still has the fixes.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Block camera input while exporting video.

exportVideo renders the shared canvas through seekAndDraw, but onPointerDown, onPointerMove, and onWheel remain active while this.exporting is true. A drag, pinch, or wheel event can therefore change the camera between frames and produce a video with user-driven camera changes. Guard these camera-input paths while preserving onPointerUp cleanup.

Suggested fix

Assert URL revocation in the downloadBlob test.

The test name says it "cleans up", but no assertion checks URL.revokeObjectURL. downloadBlob schedules the revoke with setTimeout(() => URL.revokeObjectURL(url), 1000). The test restores the spies before that timer runs. A change that removes or breaks the revoke call would still pass this test.

Use fake timers. Advance them by 1000 ms, then assert that the blob URL is revoked. Restore the mocks and timers in a finally block.

Frames are spaced by 1000 / fps (src/client/replay/ReplayExport.ts:500). totalFrames counts only frames that are already loaded, so the export never seeks past what has been decoded. Let the user cancel a running video export.

The mp4 export records in real time at TICKS_PER_SECOND. Its length is about the length of the match. During that time the timeline, play, speed and export buttons do nothing. The only way to stop is to close the viewer. exportVideo already supports signal, but the signal is only the viewer-wide this.abort.signal.

Create one AbortController for each export. Join it with the viewer signal. Let the export button emit a cancel event while exporting is true. Then keep the partial blob only when the user did not cancel.

// outside the selected range, in the class
private exportAbort: AbortController | null = null;

// in exportReplay, before the switch
this.exportAbort = new AbortController();
const signal = AbortSignal.any([

  • GIF, JSON, CSV, PNG: palette slots and tile owners both use 4 + (smallID - 1) % 252. The LZW encoder and its sub-blocks are correct. The archive round-trips through toStored/fromStored. CSV cells are escaped and protected against formula injection. The PNG is drawn in the same task as toBlob.
  • i18n: every new string goes through translateText(), all ten keys are in en.json, and no other language files changed.
  • Homepage chunk: ReplayExport is only reached through ReplayControls/ReplayViewer. No homepage module imports them: Main.ts imports only ReplayEntry and ReplayViewerRoute.

🤖 Claude Code Review

Verdict: The video exports still record territory changes late, because the renderer applies tile changes across several draws and the export draws only once per frame. Findings: 0 high, 1 medium, 0 low.

src/client/replay/ReplayViewer.ts

1. [Medium] In the video exports, each frame shows only part of its territory changes, and the last frame never shows the final map.
In exportReplay, the mp4/webm seekAndDraw callback (p.seek(frame) then this.drawNow?.()) calls the renderer draw() exactly once per exported frame. The renderer spreads tile changes over several draws:

  • When playback steps forward one frame at a time, uploadFrameData (src/client/render/frame/Upload.ts:66-68) sends the changed tiles through uploadLiveDelta. TerritoryPass.applyLiveDelta then spreads those tiles across tileDrip.bucketCount = 9 drip buckets (src/client/render/gl/render-settings.json:353).
  • Outside the spawn phase, Renderer.uploadTextures (src/client/render/gl/Renderer.ts:1263-1268) empties one bucket per draw().
  • ReplayPlayback.drain steps instead of jumping whenever the target is at most STEP_LIMIT (30) frames ahead (src/client/replay/ReplayPlayback.ts:213-216). That is always true for the full-match MP4, which seeks every frame. It is also true for the 120-frame WebM timelapse on games shorter than about 3,600 frames (about 6 minutes).

So each recorded frame applies only about 1/9 of the tile changes still waiting to be drawn. Territory appears as dithered, hash-scattered patches up to 9 exported frames late: about 0.9 s of game time in the MP4, and up to 9 of the 120 samples in the timelapse. When the loop ends, the remaining buckets are never emptied, so the final exported frame does not show the final map state. In live play this is not visible, because the renderer draws about 60 times per second and the game advances only 10 ticks per second. The export draws once per tick, so it never catches up.

  • Fix: empty every drip bucket before each video frame is captured. For example, expose a flushTileDrip() on MapRenderer/Renderer that calls territoryPass.flushAllDripBuckets(), and call it in the export seekAndDraw before drawNow(). A cruder alternative is to call draw bucketCount times per exported frame.

Also checked: CLAUDE.md compliance. Every new string goes through translateText(), all ten keys are in en.json, and no other language files changed. ReplayExport is reachable only through the lazily loaded ReplayViewer, so the homepage chunk stays clean, and the new tests are under tests/client (jsdom). The GIF LZW encoder, JSON round-trip, CSV fields and escaping, and PNG capture all look correct. Findings from earlier Claude reviews are not repeated here.

🤖 Claude Code Review

Verdict: This full re-review found no new issues. Findings: 0 high, 0 medium, 0 low (new).

No issues found. Checked for bugs and CLAUDE.md compliance, including src/client/render/CLAUDE.md for the renderer changes. Findings from earlier Claude reviews are not repeated here.

Earlier finding now fixed: the last review found that video exports recorded territory changes late because of tile drip buckets. That is fixed. GPURenderer.flushTileDrip() (src/client/render/gl/Renderer.ts:709) calls territoryPass.flushAllDripBuckets(), and MapRenderer.flushTileDrip() passes the call through to it. The video seekAndDraw callback and drawNow both flush after p.seek(frame) and before draw() (src/client/replay/ReplayViewer.ts, exportReplay). playback.onFrame calls uploadFrameData synchronously during the seek, so all of a frame's tile changes are applied before it is captured, and so is the final frame.

Re-checked across the whole PR:

  • Video export: captureStream(0) with track.requestFrame(), falling back to captureStream(fps). Frames are spaced 1000 / fps apart with no hard-coded default. When the viewer is torn down mid-export, the recorder stops, its tracks are released and nothing downloads.
  • Input during export: play, seek, speed, keyboard, pointer, wheel, double-click and pause-intent input are all ignored while exporting is true. The rAF loop stops ticking and drawing, and the saved frame and play state are restored in finally.
  • Incomplete replays: export is refused while the replay is growing or partial.
  • GIF, JSON, CSV, PNG: palette slots and tile owners both use 4 + (smallID - 1) % 252. The LZW encoder and its 255-byte sub-blocks are correct. The archive round-trips through toStored/fromStored. CSV cells are escaped and protected against formula injection. The PNG is drawn in the same task as toBlob.
  • i18n: every new string goes through translateText(), all ten keys are in en.json, and no other language files changed.
  • Homepage chunk: ReplayExport is only reached through ReplayControls/ReplayStatus/ReplayViewer, which sit behind the dynamic import("./replay/ReplayViewer") in Main.ts.

Nice work on this, and the earlier bot findings all check out as fixed at this head. Two things inline on the video path. Could you also merge main in and resolve the conflicts? The branch is unmergeable as it stands.

🤖 Claude Code Review

Reviewed range: 8c7e25d → d16d071 (only this PR's own hunks; changes merged in from main were ignored).

Verdict: One new change will fail CI. Findings: 1 high, 1 medium.

File: resources/lang/en.json

[High] replay_viewer.exporting is now unused, which fails tests/TranslationSystem.test.ts (resources/lang/en.json, "exporting": "Exporting…" in the replay_viewer block)
This range changes ReplayControls.ts to show replay_viewer.export_cancel instead of replay_viewer.exporting. Nothing in src/ or packages/ references replay_viewer.exporting any more. The dynamic key `replay_viewer.export_${fmt}` only covers keys that match ^replay_viewer\.export_.+$, and exporting has no underscore after export. So the test en.json keys stay in sync with source usage will list it under unused keys and fail.
Fix: remove "exporting": "Exporting…" from en.json, or use the key again somewhere (for example as the button's title/aria-label while an export runs).

File: src/client/replay/ReplayViewer.ts

[Medium] "Cancel export" does nothing for GIF, CSV and JSON exports until they finish (ReplayViewer.ts, cancelExport() and the gif/json/csv cases of exportReplay)
While any export runs, the export button now reads "Cancel export", and both the button and Escape call cancelExport(). Only exportVideo receives exportAbort.signal. exportReplayGif, exportMatchStatsCsv and exportReplayJson never see it. If you cancel a long GIF export, the work keeps going, exporting stays true (playback, seeking and input stay locked), and when the work finishes the result is silently dropped. cancelExport() also sets this.exportAbort = null, so pressing cancel again does nothing either.
Fix: pass exportAbort.signal into the GIF and CSV encoders and check it between frames/rows, or only show and enable the cancel action for the mp4/webm formats.

Reviewed range: d16d071..afef4ba (incremental).

Verdict: No new issues found in this range. Findings: 0 high, 0 medium, 0 low (new).

No issues found. Checked for bugs and CLAUDE.md compliance. Earlier Claude findings are not repeated here.

What was checked:

  • Abort support for GIF and CSV exports: exportReplayGif and buildMatchStatsCsv check signal.aborted before and after each await reader.load(...) and throw an AbortError. ReplayViewer.exportReplay passes exportAbort.signal to both. Its catch returns without a toast when the export was cancelled, and the finally resets exporting and exportAbort. A cancelled GIF or CSV export does not show an error and does not download.
  • en.json: the removed replay_viewer.exporting key is not referenced anywhere in the PR, and export_csv was only moved into alphabetical order. No other translation files changed.
  • Tests: the two new tests cover a signal that is already aborted for both functions.

Reviewed range: afef4ba..fa3d903 (incremental).

Verdict: No issues found. Findings: 0 critical, 0 major, 0 minor.

Most of this range is a merge of main. The PR's own changes in it are the conflict resolution in src/client/replay/ReplayControls.ts and src/client/replay/ReplayViewer.ts:

  • The "Continue Game from Here" button is hidden while an export runs (.canContinue=${!this.exporting}).
  • That button is also disabled, and its click handler returns early, while exporting.
  • openContinueModal() checks this.exporting before it does anything.

These merge correctly with the export feature. The export entry point (exportReplay) can't be reached while the continue modal is open. Checked for bugs and CLAUDE.md compliance.
