Add the OpenAI still has a WebRTC Problem post - #182
Conversation
Brings the draft post over from `voice-api` and places the existing speech-to-text and text-to-speech diagrams inline, plus the voice demo from `codex/voice-demo-embed`. The demo now uses the shared PUBLIC_API_URL instead of its own variable. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Each diagram now shows one transport (`transport="webrtc" | "moq"`), so the post can put prose between them. Words only appear once they've been said or heard, and lost words are scribbled out instead of struck through. Lanes get avatars, the reply is a speech bubble, and the legend only lists states that happen. The hand-drawn art is placeholder SVGs in public/voice/, replacing the unused `art` override prop. The kraken from "On a Boat" eats the words that matter: "away from" in the prompt and "don't, I repeat, DON'T" in the reply, so WebRTC flips the meaning instead of just garbling it. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

One token for both directions, poll GET /voice/sessions/:id until an edge claims the session, and render refusals by code. Publish the RTVI transcript.json.z track the agent subscribes to, and show its transcripts. The demo API is its own PUBLIC_VOICE_API_URL, staging everywhere until moq.pro ships the demo to production, with the wtf Turnstile sitekey. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
RTVI 2.x resends a bot-output segment's full text on every spoken word as progress, so keep only the first message per segment_id. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Two interruption diagrams: one MoQ track keeps playing its buffer after "stop", a replacement track drops it. The diagram engine gains flushed segments, timed words, and multiple replies. - Render the voice demo where the DEMO placeholder was. - Fix typos, and correct the NACK, NetEQ timestamp, Opus packet count, and WARP claims after a fact-check. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The track-swap diagram now has two lanes per side: the old track's buffered audio is X'd out as discarded, and the replacement plays on its own lane. The diagram engine stacks any number of lanes per side, replacing the flushed-segment and timed-word special cases. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Words in generated or received audio show faintly before they play. - The new interruption track is faded and labeled until it exists, and its audio is marked generated when the AI makes it, not at the start. - The AI now answers "Paris. Home of le croissant." and, after being interrupted, asks "Okay, what should we discuss next?" Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

One upstream fans out to two subscribers. When the kraken eats "of France?", the 1s speech-to-speech subscriber gives up and stalls politely, while the 10s speech-to-text subscriber waits for retransmits and answers correctly. Also adds the tokens.png asset for the post. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Your "stop" travels up to the AI as packets, and the AI takes a moment to decide before it starts the new track, so more of the old answer plays. - Lane notes stay readable while a new-track lane is still faded. - Correct the post's audio NACK line: WebRTC retransmits audio when the SDP is munged, but the jitter buffer rarely waits for it. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
A diagram starts once it reaches the middle half of the screen and keeps playing until it scrolls fully out of view, instead of pausing as soon as it leaves the top half. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Replace the human, robot, and kraken placeholders with traced drawings. The two kraken frames share one viewBox so they swap in place. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

- NetEQ adapts to jitter, not RTT; link the current NetEQ doc. - WebRTC barely uses timestamps rather than ignoring them outright. - Audio retransmits exist but lose to the jitter buffer. - Opus FEC is a lower bitrate copy of the previous frame, not parity. - MPEG-TS leans on FEC and a continuity counter, not the 0x47 sync byte. - The voice assistant is ChatGPT, not Codex. - Typos: STT, aggravate, duplicated words, and a few grammar slips. Restructure the opening around human retransmissions, and move the NetEQ, audio retransmit, and playout-delay notes into the fix-it section. The "Huh?" quote now holds the huh cat meme: a tiny keyed WebM that loops muted and plays its sound on click, via a reusable meme component. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Also includes the latest copy edits: a Gatekept section on Google owning web support, and new captions. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

The context, Navi, and Not Just Mics drawings used #00A663 and #2EEA4C. Every other post's hand-drawn art uses #00BF2D, so recolor them to that, keeping the anti-aliased edges. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

- Write a real description and date it today.
- Fix missing words ("why", "results in") and "masquerading".
- WebRTC only syncs A/V by milliseconds, not by the 500ms you'd need.
- "filler noise" instead of the VoIP term "comfort noise".
- Link both the datagrams and FEC posts.
- Say playout-delay is video only once instead of twice.

WalkthroughThe changes add a shared renderer and voice-demo components for latency budgets, interruptions, speech-to-text, and text-to-speech. They add a blog article about WebRTC and MoQ, plus an interactive video component. The changes also declare two public environment variables and reorder the social-links list. - Line 14: Update the video element in the meme component to provide a pause or
stop mechanism for the looping playback, such as stopping it after five seconds,
and add localized prefers-reduced-motion handling so motion-sensitive users do
not receive continuous animation. Preserve the existing mute control and video
presentation.

With prefers-reduced-motion, the clip no longer autoplays. It shows its first frame and plays only while the sound is on, so the click that unmutes it is also the play/stop control. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
