Summary

Remove document-level horizontal scrolling on Docs and TSConfig Reference at narrow reflow widths without clipping page content.

  • Match Docs column gutters to the content container's padding, and allow cards to shrink in the existing single-column layout.
  • Keep TSConfig quick-navigation list padding within its available width and wrap long option identifiers.
  • Let inline compiler-error message flex items shrink and wrap. Long code samples keep their own horizontal scrolling.

Verification

Fresh production builds of the clean v2 base and this isolated fix; no CSS injection for acceptance testing.

  • Real native Edge 200% zoom, 320 x 256 CSS viewport, DPR 2; completed Homepage → Docs and Homepage → Tools → TSConfig Reference keyboard routes.
  • Before: Docs could scroll horizontally by 1 CSS pixel; TSConfig by 129. After: 0 horizontal movement on both pages, with ordinary vertical scrolling preserved.
  • Checked initial, top, middle and bottom positions on both pages, plus the reported Strict section.
  • 21 responsive page/viewport checks: Docs, TSConfig and the shared Handbook landing page at 320x256, 375x812, 480x600, 481x600, 800x600, 801x600 and 1440x900.
  • Option links remain keyboard-reachable and activate their targets; long identifiers and error messages fit without truncation; code examples still scroll locally.

Before / after proof

Native 200 percent zoom before and after on Docs and TSConfig, showing the horizontal browser scrollbar removed while vertical scrolling remains

The images are complete native browser-surface captures. Docs images use each build's middle scroll position; text positions differ because wrapping changes. This does not claim the whole page fits in one viewport or that the change is already deployed.
