chore!: retire CocoaPods distribution in favor of Swift Package Manager - #69
CocoaPods Trunk rejects publishing during November 1–7, 2026 and permanently from December 2. Each GitHub release currently triggers pod trunk push, which will fail during those periods.
This removes the publishing workflow, podspec, and obsolete configuration references. The README now explains SPM installation, migration from CocoaPods, and releases through semantic-version Git tags. The Swift package, SDK source, and existing simulator CI are unchanged.
Consumer impact
Future releases use SPM only. CocoaPods consumers must migrate to receive updates; direct Git-based pod consumers cannot use commits without the podspec. Existing published pods and their original Git tags remain available. Merge alongside the companion documentation PR.
Repository-wide search found CocoaPods references only in migration guidance.
Confirmed the documented 2.3.0 Git tag contains the existing Swift package.
Xcode and Swift are unavailable in this Linux workspace. The existing macOS simulator workflow is running; an Xcode app migration smoke test remains outstanding.
Post-merge cleanup
Remove the unused COCOAPODS_TRUNK_TOKEN GitHub secret and revoke its Trunk session/token after publishing is retired. Do not remove historical tags or published pod versions.
The repository removes the CocoaPods podspec and publishing workflow, along with related comments in Dependabot configuration and .gitignore. The README now documents Swift Package Manager installation, migration from CocoaPods, and steps for testing and publishing releases. It also states that previously published pod versions remain available.
Priority: Normal
Merge Risk: Low · up to b2b2b
The documentation can cause avoidable integration failures or leave stale CocoaPods workspace state, but both corrections are straightforward.

- Line 12: Update the installation section in README.md to state that the
package requires iOS 16 or later immediately before the version rule. Keep the
existing installation instructions unchanged.
- Around line 25-28: Update the CocoaPods migration steps so users run pod
install only when other pods remain; when FormbricksSDK was the last pod,
instruct them to run pod deintegrate and open the .xcodeproj instead.
