The on-connect message opened with "Congrats, you've received free X API credits to get started!". This removes that line and the rules for when to send it. The message now starts with the capabilities list and still states the remaining balance.

Version is 2.6.4 because #578 and #563 both take 2.6.3. Whichever lands out of order renames its CHANGELOG heading.

Test plan

  • node scripts/validate-plugins.mjs passes.
  • Connect the X plugin in a fresh chat: the welcome starts with "You're connected to X" and has no congrats line.

Note

Documentation and agent-skill copy only; no runtime code, auth, or billing logic changes.

Overview
Bumps the X Cursor plugin to 2.6.4 and changes how agents greet users on first connect.

The “Congrats, you've received free X API credits to get started!” opener is removed from the on-connect flow. The welcome now starts with the capabilities list (“You're connected to X…”) and still includes remaining balance (You have about $X.XX in credits.), budget ideas when balance allows, and the $0 console.x.com path when credits are ~$0.

Updates in x-api-mcp-guide/SKILL.md strip congrats rules (just-connected detection, free_balance triggering congrats, skip-congrats on returning sessions) while keeping get_usage_credits before user-facing text, the starter-credits-by-plan table only when asked, and the “don't say you received $X” guidance.
