Software engineer — platform, infrastructure, distributed systems.
I build and operate Kubernetes platforms for regulated fintech and public-sector workloads. Away from that, I write systems close to the metal: banking ledgers in COBOL, games in assembly, compilers from scratch.
MetricFlow — Durable data pipelines on Temporal.
Fetch, transform and persist, with automatic retries when a step fails and workflow
state that survives a worker dying mid-run. Exposes Prometheus counters for executions,
successes, failures and retries, plus a sharding demo. Docker Compose and Kubernetes
manifests included.

FinancialTransactionMonitoringSystem —
Polyglot services: a Rust monitoring service watching the transaction stream, a Go
user service beside it.
Rust · Go
cobol_system_with_python —
A core banking back end in COBOL, with a FastAPI service in front of it.
The interesting constraint: there is no database to lean on, so transfers are made
all-or-nothing across indexed files by compensation — and that rollback path is proven
by fault-injection tests rather than assumed. Append-only ledger, audit trail,
end-of-day batch jobs, API-key auth with teller/supervisor roles, idempotency keys on
every money movement. 243 tests, all passing.

c64_game — A tile-based game for the
Commodore 64 in 6502 assembly. Graphics come out of CharPad as raw charset and tileset
binaries; memoryMap.asm places every region by hand, because on a 64 KB machine with
no memory manager, you are the memory manager.

ping_pong — Pong in 16-bit x86 real mode.
VGA mode 13h written straight to video memory, BIOS interrupts for input, timer ticks
for frame pacing, collision in integer maths. No engine, no libraries, no floating point.

obstacle_avioding_robot —
An Arduino robot that sweeps an ultrasonic rangefinder on a servo, picks the clearest
heading, and drives it.

Compiler-X-ray — A compiler you can
watch work. A Python lexer, parser and tree-walking interpreter behind a React front end
that renders the token stream and the syntax tree for whatever you type into it.
Python · React
compiler_api — The same pipeline taken
further down: lexical analysis through code generation to a machine-code emitter.

Building and running a multi-tenant Kubernetes platform at newwave technologies — Terraform-managed infrastructure, GitOps delivery through Flux, and the observability stack that keeps the whole thing honest.
Always happy to talk about distributed systems, platform engineering, or why anyone would write a bank in COBOL in 2026.
