We should be associating exceptions through the exception handler class, not here (it's called common/web/ApiExceptionHandler.java). It should already be in there.
The change adds backend endpoints and repository operations to list, grant, and revoke admin access. The members table displays admin status and provides controls to grant or revoke access. Admin routes require the ROLE_ADMIN role.

Summary
Admin data contract and repository src/main/java/org/patinanetwork/patchats/auth/dto/*, src/main/java/org/patinanetwork/patchats/auth/repo/*, src/main/java/org/patinanetwork/patchats/common/web/exception/*
The request and response records define admin data. The repository supports listing, adding, and removing admins, and handles duplicate entries, missing entries, and attempts to remove the final admin.
Admin endpoints and access control src/main/java/org/patinanetwork/patchats/auth/AdminController.java, src/main/java/org/patinanetwork/patchats/auth/security/SecurityConfig.java, src/main/java/org/patinanetwork/patchats/common/web/ApiExceptionHandler.java
The controller exposes list, add, and remove endpoints. The development security chain restricts admin routes to ROLE_ADMIN. Exception handlers return HTTP 404 for missing admins and HTTP 409 for duplicates.
Member table admin controls js/src/features/members/api/*, js/src/features/members/components/AdminToggle.tsx, js/src/features/members/components/MembersTable.tsx
Client hooks fetch admins and perform add and remove requests. The members table displays admin badges and provides confirmation-based admin controls.
Prevent concurrent removals from locking administrators out before merging. Also make the members page distinguish an unavailable admin list from an empty one.
Security architecture risk: High · up to 7d665
A removed administrator with a still-valid session can use the new management capability to restore lasting administrator access. Concurrent removals can also defeat the last-administrator safeguard. Exploitation requires an existing administrator session; the routes remain role-protected and retain CSRF protection.
Retained concerns
High · security · inferred: A revoked administrator retaining a valid ROLE_ADMIN session can call the new POST endpoint to restore their own allowlist entry or grant another address. Session-snapshot authorization predates the PR, but permission-table writes were previously unavailable through the application. The new capability therefore turns residual session access into durable administrator persistence. The documented next-login policy and role gate limit the attack prerequisite but do not prevent this re-grant.
Medium · reliability · inferred: The new last-administrator safeguard is not atomic: two removals of different addresses can both observe two rows and then delete both. This can eliminate every source of administrator authority for future logins. A surviving administrator session can repopulate the table, but once no such session remains, recovery requires database intervention. Sequential removal is correctly blocked; concurrent preservation is not established by the inspected code or schema.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — The independently attackable scope is the application's shared administrator allowlist and the routes inheriting ROLE_ADMIN. No tenant selector appears in the inspected management path. Exploitation requires possession of a valid administrator session, including one retained after allowlist removal; ordinary authenticated membership is insufficient.
Security Findings and Attack Paths
inferred — The retained revocation finding intersects a newly introduced persistence path: an administrator signs in, another administrator removes their allowlist row, the original session retains ROLE_ADMIN, and that session submits its own address to POST /api/admin/admins. A later login can regain administrator authority from the restored row. Residual session authority is preexisting and documented; the ability to make it durable through application writes is new.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — The new permission-table writes inherit session-role authorization and CSRF protection; they are not among the anonymous CSRF exemptions. The controller delegates writes without checking the caller's current allowlist membership, and removal does not invalidate the affected member's sessions. Consequently, the operative management authority is the session snapshot rather than current permission-table state.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
inferred — An empty allowlist prevents new sessions from obtaining administrative authority. Existing administrator sessions provide a temporary application recovery path, but this depends on the same residual authority that weakens revocation. Recovery should not rely on stale privileges to compensate for a failed last-owner invariant.
Hardening Proposals
proposed — Require current administrator authority for permission-table mutations and define revocation ordering across allowlist changes and existing sessions. Any session-deletion implementation should first establish the exact principal-to-session binding and address concurrent grant/revoke requests.
proposed — Serialize competing removals around the last-administrator precondition using a database-backed mechanism that protects the invariant across application instances. Define recovery independently of surviving privileged sessions and validate concurrent removal and interrupted-request outcomes.

Full details: Title check
Explanation
The title "Add ability to add admins via UI" matches the main change. The PR adds a UI in the members page that grants and revokes admin access for existing accounts, backed by new admin list, add, and remove hooks, endpoints, and repository methods. The title is slightly loose: the change also covers revoking admin access, and "add admins" does not mention removal. It is still a specific, accurate summary of the primary feature.
Full details: Description check
Explanation
The description follows the template with Summary, Testing, and UI Changes sections. The Summary states the purpose: the members page gains the ability to grant and revoke admin access for existing accounts. Testing states that mock accounts on a local database were used, without listing specific test cases. The UI Changes section includes a screenshot. The description is mostly complete. It could improve by naming the backend endpoints, the admin-removal safeguard for the last admin, and the specific scenarios tested.

The last-admin guard is a separate SELECT COUNT(*) followed by a DELETE, with no transaction or lock. Two concurrent revokes in a two-admin table both see count = 2 and both delete, leaving zero admins and locking everyone out of the admin panel. The guard also runs before the existence check, so removing a non-existent email when only one admin exists returns a validation error instead of 404.
Make the guard atomic in a single statement, for example:
DELETEFROM admins
WHERE email = normalize_email(:email)
AND (SELECTCOUNT(*) FROM admins) >1
Then distinguish 'not found' from 'last admin' when 0 rows are deleted. Alternatively, wrap it in a transaction that locks the table rows (SELECT ... FOR UPDATE).

Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win
Handle the useAdmins loading and error states.
data: admins = [] hides both states. While the query is pending or has failed, no row shows an Admin badge. AdminToggle shows "Grant" for existing admins. isLastAdmin is always false. A click on "Grant" for an existing admin returns 409 and shows a "Grant failed" notification. The page gives no sign that the admin list failed to load.
Read isPending and isError from useAdmins. Disable AdminToggle until the data is available, or show an alert on error.
In AdminToggle, add the adminsLoading prop. Include it in the disabled condition.

Make the last-admin guard atomic, and preserve the missing-target 404.
Two concurrent removals can both observe two admins and delete different rows. The admins table can become empty.
An administrator with an existing session can recover through POST /api/admin/admins, because that session retains ROLE_ADMIN. After the session expires, a new login checks the empty allowlist and receives no ROLE_ADMIN. The protected recovery endpoint is then unavailable, so recovery requires a manual database edit.
This is a material administrative availability failure and warrants a major issue classification.
