HelpRadar

HelpRadar is a small, static frontend project that provides a public help-request dashboard and a simple admin interface. It's implemented with plain HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript so it can be served from any static host — no build step required.

Tech stack: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (vanilla)

Files:

  • index.html: public dashboard (main UI)
  • admin.html: admin interface for managing requests
  • app.js: frontend logic for the public dashboard
  • admin.js: admin interface scripts
  • style.css: styles for the public dashboard
  • admin.css: styles for the admin pages
  • README.md: this file

Features:

  • Simple, static help-request dashboard UI
  • Lightweight admin interface for viewing and managing requests
  • No dependencies — works by opening files in a browser or serving statically

Quick Start

Minimal options to preview locally:

  • Direct open: open index.html or admin.html in your browser.
  • Recommended (VS Code): install the Live Server extension and click Go Live to serve the folder with auto-reload.

No build tools or package managers are required.

Development

  • Edit the frontend files (app.js, admin.js, style.css, admin.css) and refresh the page to see changes.
  • If you want to simulate persisted data, add a small JSON file (for example data/requests.json) and adapt app.js to fetch it. I can add a mock JSON and wiring on request.

Deployment

This is a static site and can be hosted on any static host (GitHub Pages, Netlify, Vercel, etc.). For GitHub Pages, push the repository and enable Pages from the repository settings (use the repository root on the main branch).

Contributing

  • Small, focused pull requests are welcome (bug fixes, accessibility, responsive styles).
  • When opening a PR include a short description and screenshots when applicable.

License

This repository is released under the MIT License. Update the license file if you change licensing.

Next Steps (optional)

  • Add example data and a small mock loader for app.js to simulate saved requests.
  • Improve accessibility (ARIA labels, keyboard navigation) on both dashboard and admin pages.
  • Add a simple build or preview script if you want npm-based tooling.

If you'd like, I can add a mock data/requests.json and wire app.js to load it — tell me if you want that.
