Closes #41.

Before: the additional-resources page had learning lists for R but none for Python.

After: a short "Learning Python" section links Python Tutor and says it covers Python, Java, C, C++ and JavaScript but not R.

How: one added section in chapters/coding-practices/additional-resources.qmd. Companion to Morrison-Lab/lds#1040. Not rendered locally; the preview will show it.

Review: Add Python Tutor to the additional resources (PR #42)

Scope. Single-file change to chapters/coding-practices/additional-resources.qmd, adding one bullet list item ("Learning Python") linking Python Tutor. Closes #41, which explicitly requested exactly this addition. Confirmed via gh pr diff --name-only that only this one file changed, matching the saved diff.

Verification performed:

  • https://pythontutor.com/ returns HTTP 200 — link is live, won't trip the lychee link-check CI job.
  • Fetched the Python Tutor homepage directly: it states "Python Tutor visualizes Python, Java, C, C++, and JavaScript" — the PR's description text is an accurate paraphrase, not a hallucination.
  • Bullet formatting (blank line before the list, 2-space-indented continuation lines) matches the existing convention used elsewhere in this same file (e.g., lines 20–21, 27–30), satisfying the "lists of 3+ items / blank line before bullets" rule from CLAUDE.md and .github/copilot-instructions.md. This is a single-item list, so the 3+ item bullet rule doesn't strictly apply, but the formatting is consistent regardless.
  • No code chunks, no R code, no new dependencies, no _site/_freeze/.quarto artifacts touched — nothing to lint or build-hygiene-check here.
  • No raw HTML introduced in the .qmd file.

Observation (non-blocking): chapters/resources.qmd already has its own ## Resources for Python {#sec-resources-python} section (DataLab workshop links), and that same page's intro text says "Several chapters keep their own resource lists, so this page points to those lists rather than repeating them," pointing at coding-practices.qmd#sec-r-resources with the description "books on R, R packages, Shiny, and Git for R users." After this PR, that target section (## Additional Resources {#sec-r-resources}, which includes additional-resources.qmd) also contains Python material, so the cross-reference description in resources.qmd:19-20 is now slightly stale (it undersells the section's contents) and the site ends up with two separate "Python resources" lists in different places. This matches what issue #41 explicitly asked for, so it's not a reason to block the PR, but a follow-up tweak to the resources.qmd description (or a short cross-link between the two Python sections) would keep the site's own stated "don't repeat lists" policy consistent. Flagging as an optional suggestion, not a blocker.

No bugs, no CLAUDE.md violations, no build-hygiene or CI-impact issues, and no evidence of fabricated content.

Cross-harness review (Argon: Gemini via Antigravity agy 1.3.5, read-only plan mode) at 80a0c47

Checked for correctness, Quarto syntax and crossrefs, consistency with the PR description, lost or duplicated content, and style, from the diff alone. Not checked: the rendered page.
