Added
  • Expose the Deployment strategy in the helm chart, so that a deployment can
use Recreate instead of the default RollingUpdate.
  • Add a DELETE /api/v1/asset/{path}?id=N endpoint to dissociate a single
asset from a node. If the asset is no longer referenced by any other data
source, its catalog record is deleted; and, when it is internally managed,
the underlying data (file, directory, object, or storage-database rows) is
deleted as well. Mirrors node deletion: gated on expose_raw_assets and
defaults to external_only=true, refusing to delete internally-managed data
    unless external_only=false is passed.
  • Add Container.register, a synchronous client method to register external,
server-accessible files as a single dataset (array, table, etc.).
  • Add registration support for Parquet files.
  • Documentation: a user-guide page on validating metadata against custom specs
    via server configuration.
  • ACL filtering by access tags ids resolved from access tag names on the server.
The ids are passed as literals in the querries, which allows Postgres to use
extended statstics to plan the query.
  • Container.search_deep(*queries, max_depth=None) and the corresponding
GET /api/v1/search-deep/{path} HTTP endpoint, which search all
descendants of a node (at any depth), not just direct children. Multiple
queries are combined with logical AND. Results are
returned as a DeepSearchResults mapping keyed by path tuples relative
to the search root. Supported by both the SQL catalog and MapAdapter,
including MapAdapter trees with a catalog (or other container adapter)
mounted at a sub-path, e.g. via trees configuration. Results are in default
(database) order; sorting is not supported. Looking up a single result with
results[key] scans the results and is linear in their number.
Access policy is applied to every container between the search root and a
match, as path traversal does for other routes, so a node is not returned
(and its container's name not revealed) if a container above it is not
visible to the requesting user. See
    #1368.
  • Zarr arrays are served with dims taken from the store: Zarr v3
dimension_names, or the _ARRAY_DIMENSIONS attribute on Zarr v2 arrays.
An array with any unnamed dimension keeps dims=None.
Changed
  • Replace catalog access_blob column with a normalized access_tags table.
Tags, grants, tag ownership, and node-tag associations now live in the
catalog database; graph entities and links share the same tags table,
but have their own association tables. Per-user principal tags replace
user-owned blobs and are granted implicitly to their principals.
  • AccessTagsParser and AccessTagsCompiler now discover and use the catalog
database on both SQLite and PostgreSQL. Removed tag definitions retain their
node associations but lose their grants, preventing transient configuration
failures from erasing access-control information. The server remains
compatible with older clients that use access_blob.
  • Deployment note: this change includes four sequential catalog migrations
(an intermediate blob-association schema, conversion to tags, a
parent-scoped node-tag association, and naming adjustment). Apply the full
migration chain without stopping at an intermediate revision. This also drops
the old metadata index; deploy the improved replacement index from #1521
    as well.
  • Object-storage (S3) tests now run against an in-process moto S3 server
started automatically by the test suite, instead of requiring a MinIO
container (whose image was removed from Docker Hub). Set TILED_TEST_BUCKET
to point the tests at a real MinIO/S3 endpoint instead.
  • The server depends on PyJWT instead of python-jose to sign and verify
    JSON Web Tokens.
  • Remove curl from the container image; it was only used for health checks.
The compose.yml and compose.dev.yml health checks now use httpx
    instead.
Fixed
  • Roll back catalog node creation when SQL identifier validation fails, so a
corrected retry is not blocked by a partially-created node.
  • Encode application/json-seq table exports with the RFC 7464 record
separator and line-feed framing, preventing single-row sequences from being
mistaken for a single JSON document by browser clients.
  • Extend to zarr routes the previous fix for reads of array data whose
on-disk shape has diverged from the shape recorded in the catalog
structure, which can happen while an array is being extended
    (e.g. streaming appends).
  • Make retrying of non-idempotent requests (create and append) safe against duplication.
  • distinct on a catalog node counted nodes across the whole catalog instead of
only the node's children. It is now scoped to the requested node.
  • Fix the background task that purges expired Sessions and API keys. It
crashed on its first run and was never retried, so expired entries
(including the short-lived keys minted for websocket subscriptions)
could accumulate until a Principal hit the API-key limit. Expired entries
are now removed with a single bulk DELETE, so a large backlog is not loaded into
memory. The task also purges expired PendingSessions (device-code login attempts).
  • Deleting a Session is no longer blocked by a pending device-code login that
still references it: pending_sessions.session_id is now ON DELETE SET NULL, so the reference is detached instead.
  • On shutdown, the server now stops its background tasks, and waits for them,
before closing the database connection pool. Closing the pool first could
leave a background task running and hang shutdown.
  • from_uri applies its timeout and trust_env arguments, or the default
timeouts when none are given, to the first request it makes to an http:// URI.
