The latest review on #287 asks for selected-interaction visualization, a reproducible all-in-one download, and compact parameter controls. This follow-up adds those features to the existing browser interface.

Targets feat/286-wasm-webinterface, the branch of #287. Addresses the latest review comment.

  • Select a row or its View button to embed vaRRI below the table. Encode the correct full target/query sequences, structures, names and signed start indices. Retain visualization when CSV structure columns are hidden, and clear it when inputs change. Load the external viewer only after selection and provide a full-viewer link.
  • Download ZIP beside Download CSV includes normalized input FASTA, compiled version/provenance information, portable native parameter files, the selected CSV, local SHAPE/accessibility inputs and every generated output. Text reports include separate replay configurations. Reuse effective worker arguments and preserve the completed run independently of table filtering/sorting.
  • Replace folded parameter sections with accessible tabs and compact controls. Support arrow/Home/End navigation and task-specific tabs. Link “Bioinformatics - University of Freiburg” to the group website; let table/footer notes use the available width.
  • Update staging, regression coverage, README, implementation notes and ChangeLog.

Validation:

  • npm test --prefix webinterface: all 12 groups pass.
  • node scripts/wasm/smoke.mjs and node scripts/wasm/smoke-protocol.mjs: pass using the existing Emscripten 4.0.23 engine at fc62a23; no C++ changes. Exported parameter files reproduce byte-identical CSV, per-record outputs, probability SVG and ASCII/detailed/ensemble reports in fresh WASM instances, including multi-FASTA/signed indices, changed energy/seed settings and local data imports.
  • Real WASM browser suite at a nested URL passes in Chromium 156 and Firefox 157. Covers keyboard tabs, row selection/URL encoding, ZIP contents/checksums through Python zipfile, evaluation, CSV visibility, empty results and abort/recovery. CI stubs only the third-party iframe response. A separate live Chromium check confirms the hosted vaRRI renders RNA bases; desktop and mobile screenshots reviewed.
  • Native make tests -j2: all eight API/CLI groups pass, including 462,689 assertions in 119 API cases.
  • Staging, independent ZIP Unicode/empty-file interoperability, shell/Python/JS syntax and git diff --check: pass.

The external vaRRI deployment controls its availability and support for main-v2 strand-name parameters; older deployments may show generic names. vaRRI requires nonzero start indices, so zero-based runs remain computable/exportable and show an explanation when visualization is requested. ZIP replay requires the recorded native IntaRNA and library versions.
