ChessRealms.Engine v1.2.0 is now available!

Version 1.2.0 is now available on NuGet!

This release adds standard chess notation and PGN game exchange, alongside improvements to memory usage and game restoration.

What's new

• SAN support — parse, format, and play moves in canonical Standard Algebraic Notation, including castling, promotions, checks, and checkmate.
• PGN import and export — exchange a single game's mainline, tags, and result, with support for custom starting positions.
• Structured import diagnostics — identify invalid moves and unsupported PGN content with error codes and source locations.
• Historical position access — retrieve FEN at a specific ply without materializing the full move history.
• Performance improvements — reduce allocations in FEN formatting, repetition tracking, and move history, and avoid redundant replay when restoring games directly from JSON or importing PGN with a playable game.
  PGN support currently covers the mainline only and requires canonical SAN. Comments, annotations, and variations are not supported yet.
